Full-Time Shipping and Receiving Coordinator

Summary
Primary role is scheduling both inbound and outbound deliveries with local and national carriers (LTL and full truckload shipments), as well as transporting materials back and forth from our Production Facility to our Shipping Warehouse and occasional deliveries to our local customer warehouses or picking up materials from local suppliers (company owned box truck and semi with 53′ trailer). Position occasionally participates in liquid filling operations. This includes setting, adjusting, maintaining and repairing manual and semi-automated liquid filling production equipment. This position requires working at a quick pace following batch record instructions and validating the completion of tasks.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ship and Receive truckloads and process FDA required paperwork for shipments.
o Receive and sample materials per FDA and DEA guidelines.
o Coordinate delivery appointments with trucking companies and customers. - Track lot numbers and create and complete Bills of Lading.
- Maintain and organize 15,000 sq ft warehouse containing packaging and finished goods.
- Transport released material from Production Facility to local Shipping Warehouse
o Stage orders recording lot numbers in a first in, first out manner.
o Transport packaging on return trip for next production run. - Ensure all products meet quality specifications.
- Participate in daily production, including running a semi-automated filling line.
- Pack and unload full cases of product and stack on pallets.
- General housekeeping sweep, mop, trash removal.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Good driving record.
- Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screen, and background check.
Skills Required
- Proficient in tracking lot numbers and creating Bills of Lading for shipments.
- Proficient and safe operation of a forklift to load and unload trucks.
- Ability to look ahead at the production schedule to identify what material will be required next.
- Driving a box truck or Semi w/ 53ft trailer safely and in accordance with all road safety rules and traffic laws.
- CDL Class A with NO RESTRICTIONS (Air Brake, tanker and Hazmat endorsements preferred).
o Hazmat, and tanker endorsements could be acquired after hire. - DOT Hazmat training or knowledge for shipping required.
- Attention to detail to maintain quality products.
- Flexibility to work in various parts of the filling process.
- Experience in a warehouse environment using standard practices preferred.
- PC skills required (Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong team player.
- Excellent communication skills including verbal, email and text messaging.
